    Seriously depressing
This show gives you a glimpse into the life of a high school girl stricken with severe social anxiety. She can't even talk to people aside from her family and one friend from middle school. She awkwardly stumbles through every social interaction and spends all her free time playing dating sim games and loathing her fellow classmates. This anime is just heart-breaking. You spend the whole show ...

  • Hilarious and Depressing at the same time.
This is about a girl who wants to be popular. As you can see, she isn't a girl who looks likes she would either want or be popular, but this is her journey and it is absolutely hysterical. Not everyone will enjoy this anime, but it's pretty good. I totally love the opening song, especially because there is an episode where it leads into the opening song flawlessly.

A good show showing how loneliness can warp someone. Spent half of my time watching it with the video paused because of acquired embarrassment from her antisocial reactions to things...but most of them I can relate to...overall cute and amusing......

best anime series ever made imo
if you have not watched this watch it. it's full of very mean-spirited and humiliating humor, the artwork is excellent, the voice acting is above top-notch (omg the background characters in the classrooms kill me every time) and the story itself is engaging. people who don't seem to think it's funny are, to me, losers.

btw people who say this anime lacks plot development: were you even ...

    This is the best!!!!
After watching this anime, I really wished there would be a second season, just so I can see Tomoko's high school adventure to become popular! I could relate really well to Tomoko with being unpopular and a total Otaku (although the difference is I don't have too bad of a people problem...i think). This anime is just a really awesome anime and it captures some real problems of an otaku life (plus ...

  • The real life of a girl with social anxiety
I can definitely relate to parts of Tomoko (The main character) which makes this anime really interesting. On the other hand, it can also be a bit uncomfortable because of how awkward she is. I strongly empathize with her because of what she deals with which makes it a bit exhausting to watch. I would definitely recommend it, but prepare yourself before you watch.

  • A Really realistic anime, FINALLY!
This anime is basically a REAL teen's life. Kinda like expectation v.s reality. But the anime could have been longer. I really like the opening to! Umm so yeah I want more episodes... But this is good anime for someone who's lookin' for a slice-of-life- anime!

    Relevant and scathing comedy
As opposed to other slice-of-life shows that portray extraordinary people in idyllic situations, Watamote takes a truly original approach by portraying a relatable misanthrope hoping to correct herself. The situations in this show are often cringeworthy--if only because of their close parallels to one's own life experiences--and provide a kind of sympathetic comedy that, while not for all, will be ...

One of the best I have ever seen!
This has been one of the best anime that I have watched in years! This character makes you FEEL things for her and strong feelings too. Whether you pity her, understand her, are angry at her, you will feel a lot of different emotions. I would LOVE to see a series 2!
