A shockingly disturbing satire of the "loner life"
Emo/Otaku girl: the anime. This story follows the miserable life of a certain girl who is socially inept. Dark humor is everywhere in this one, if you aren't into that, you might want to avoid this one. You can easily find out if you will like this show after the 1st episode. At first the premise of the show is truly shocking, it doesn't seem like the story will be all that good, but the viewer ...

    Painful yet relatable
This show hurt in many personal ways. I think everyone has felt these things in some ways at some time, but this show dredged all those old failures and feelings up and produced cringes that broke space-time. If you can't stand feelings of embarrassment, or shame this is not the show for you.

Follow this extremely awkward teen on her quest to make friends. Laugh, cry, stare at a corner, pause ...

    Awkward Yet Hilarious
Watamote 「ワタモテ」 really put me in good spirits and made me grin. 9/10 ミ☆

    Plot
Watamote is a tale which basically follows geeky anime-loving Tomoko Kuroki and her struggle, as the title suggests, of not fitting into the crowd at school and having very few friends or anyone to talk to. So, through the series, she tries to perfect herself so others may see her in a new light,

    Juvenile pathos as art
Wow, where to start?... The series is rather well done, for what it is: a study of teenage emotional turmoil that - let's be honest - EVERYONE experiences to some degree growing up. The protagonist is an ugly 1st year high-schooler, full of doubts, fears and base desires... like virtually EVERYONE is (or was). We experience her thoughts, plans, expectations, minor joys and epic failures as she ...

    Moar Watamote Plz ♥
I've been on an anime break and haven't been interested in it for a while since nothing caught my attention, but I decided why not give WATAMOTE a try. I lohved it.
THERES GOT TO BE A SECOND SEASON OR SOMETHING!
I enjoyed the scenarios she had gotten herself into and hearing her thoughts. I loved the character herself heh. She's not the normal clique anime girl you'd expect ; v ; ~ WHICH IS ...

    Awkward show is Awkward..
I could not bring myself to finish watching this show. But from what I saw, this show does hold some comedic value that shouldn't be overlooked. The protagonist is creepy, weird, awkward, and some of the situations she ends up in is hilarious.

It's not a bad show, but it also is not a show for everyone. It's not my cup of tea, but from what I watched I enjoyed it.

    I-it was um....perfect
Lets see where to begin. I read the Mangas and I got to say, the cringe they provide is nowhere near the cringe this show will put you through. I barely got through episode 8 there was so much spaghetti and cringe. I love this take on Slice of Life, I mean come on. How could you not adore and NEET quiet otaku grill. Over all I Loved it! cringe/10

Rooting for Someone Who'll Never Win
While not a spectacular anime, Watamote is an incredibly interesting story of a girl who enters high school in hopes of becoming popular. Tomoko is by no means hero. On the outside, she is a liar, a cheater, hateful, introverted, secluded, and impossibly awkward. However, her determination and what goes through her mind to reveal her true character is what propels the show and really pulls in ...

The Underdog that Stays the Underdog
Watamote's main protagonist Tomoko Kuroki is easily one of the most realized characters in anime with issues that I am sure that anyone who has had social anxiety has faced in their school life. Equal parts cringe worthy and humorous, the anime makes you sympathize and at times shake your head at Tomoko's interaction in her world and thought processes. With great animation, a wonderfully quirky ...

Otaku's Be Ready to watch your life on the Extreme!
For anyone who spent their school years locked away watching anime or playing video games this anime hold TONS of sad truths! But the extremes of the situations are what make the anime funny and worth the watch. I have actually began reading the manga and from what I've read the anime sticks true to it's source! I laughed and felt bad for Tomoko all at the same time! The stories were easy to ...
