A Unique, Deep, and Fun Anime
Welcome to the NHK is a fantastic anime. One of my personal favorites. It may feel a little odd at first, but once the first episode is through, things get rather emotional, thought provoking, and very enjoyable. A surreal slice of life anime with a realistic psychological twist.

    This show is pure catharsis
CW: This show frankly discusses suicide, abuse, addiction, sex, and various forms of mental illness.

Most people have hated themselves at one point or another in their lives. For some people, that hate is utterly debilitating. This is a show about those people, and if you are one yourself it can be profoundly healing to watch. It tackles anxiety, depression, self-loathing, surviving trauma, ...

If you like to watch an anime about how depressing life can be, watch this!
Welcome to the N-H-K is that kind anime where you keep watching each episode while wondering "Why am I watching this?" and yet you keep watching the next one and the next one and so on. It's brilliantly display how stupid someone (in this case a man) can be whenever he fall in any traps of modern society. Ironically, the main character think the world is taken under the conspiracy of N-H-K ...

One of my all time favorites
I own it on DVD, and it is in my top five anime. That's coming from someone who has seen 150+ anime. It has some comedy, but it also has some really dark themes to it. I don't know why, but I absolutely love Welcome to the NHK. It's such a well written show that's always fun to rewatch.

Wild and unexpected turns. Slice of life. A little uneven buy enjoyable overall.
Enjoyed this overall, but a few disappointments and I didn't care for the ending.
They can't seem to decide if he's really a NEET / Hikikomori (sp?), or some delusional, mental case and they keep going back and forth. Plus some of the plots seem forced and I found them particularly annoying (most of the class-rep marketing setup).

Lots of sex references, some subtle, many anything but... I ...

Anime doesn't have to be magical girls, battle tournaments & robots
Let me just dive in here. It's a good anime but not perfect. The flaw is the relatability of the main characters. Sato is hikikomori, and if the viewer is not, then Sato is a totally unrelatable character. Actually Sato comes across as someone to be scorned and chastised for his hikikomori status. Misaki is socially inept, and if the viewer is not, then she comes across as a totally unrelatable ...

One of my ALL TIME FAVS, glad to see it in the catalogue.
Where do I begin with this review? Hmmm a few years back one of Pewdiepie's vids helped me discover this title, I honestly didn't really know what I was in for but since I'd been in similar situation as a NEET, or a hikikomori and suffered greatly from it, the story instantly clicked with me, I can't tell you HOW MUCH I loved this anime, how realistically the story portrayed the life of a ...

    Absolute Masterpiece
This is a unique masterpiece, easily the best show I have watched over the past decade. The wonderfully developed characters are extremely believable. The mental disorders the characters have to face are described in outstanding detail and with absolute medical precision. The challenges faced by the characters resonate with life so well: even if you are not in the "hikikomori state", I am certain ...
