    A sociologist's perspective
So far this anime has been a rather textbook example of a normalisation process in an abusive relationship. Kyouya, the abuser has an extreme need for control, needing people to submit to him and when he interacts with other people it tends to be on his own terms or not at all. Having a lot of one night stands is a way to retain control, since you don't commit to risk of having someone leave you ...

"If Ao Haru Ride is a Blue Spring, Wolf Girl & Black Prince is a Peppy Summer." - Kingfirejet Reviews
Immediate Thoughts: " http://youtubedoubler.com/dzDZ " "Ao Haru Ride again!"

    Episode 1 Thoughts:
I read the manga and loved it! (I WON'T SPOIL). First off, the adaptation with the manga is pretty spot on and I assume it will be like Blue Spring Ride being a 1 cour series. Wolf Girl and Black Prince is about the terrors of the first day of school and the awkwardness of ...

    But I can change him!
I want to like this show more then I do. The comedy is pretty solid but I just can't get past the fact that we're supposed to be rooting for these two. It perpetuates the idea that you can make somebody fall in love with you if you're just persistent enough and worse...the idea that you can change somebody if you just love them enough. I imagine this will have an ending with them ending up ok, ...

Glorifies verbally abusive relationships and the generic "you're a woman, know your place" stereotype.
Before anything else, I'm not going to bother with spoiler alerts because I want to save you from watching this horrible anime. Just read everything and I am sure you will not watch after reading.

This anime is horrible. All around: its just bad. Let me start with the characters.

Kyoya: I cannot STAND him. I was genuinely pissed off at him that i had to take a break from watching from how ...

Had me worried for a second, but handled a tough topic masterfully
First of all, this show has all the feels... I cried like four times, and I DO NOT CRY... lol... but it will also have you laughing, and shouting along with (and at) the characters as they go on their respective journeys, which is all you can really ask for in terms of good characterization.

Now for the sticky stuff. Issues of abuse and to a lesser degree, abandonment are touched on in this ...

If you hate Kyoya, finish the anime!
Wolf Girl and Black Prince is humorous and charming.

A lot of people critic this anime for promoting being a slave to some guy just because you're attracted to him, and I would have to somewhat agree with that, but only for the first half of the anime. The second half of this anime honestly threw me for a loop! I found myself smiling like an idiot after ep6 :3 I actually ...

Another girl needs to save boy from himself story..But worse. The end.
So I get it.. People like the whole broken guy, girl who will stop at nothing to fix him thing. But I feel like when it comes to Wolf girl and Black prince, the characters were just too terrible to enjoy the cliche.

So I will start with the personalities of the two main characters..

Black Prince: Talk about verbally and psychologically abusive. His personality is just plain awful! He is the ...

    A very unhealthy relationship
There were moments that I enjoyed, Episode 12 most of all and the art is beautiful, but those are the only positives I have for this series.

For the most part, it was hard to watch. I did not want Kyouya and Erika to end up together. Kyouya is cold, arrogant, and controlling. While we get glimpses that there is something beneath, it doesn't last or really change his behavior. Erika is both ...

A very solid adaptation of the manga!
While the subject matter of this anime may seem a bit macabre, anyone who has read the manga knows what happens in the story. I will not spoil anything, but this is not an S&M love comedy. It's a coming of age tale about a young man who has led a very lonely life and the girl that helps to bring him out of his shell. While the main focus is the unorthodox love story, you see friendships develop ...

    Kyoya is the worst..
As much as I resent Kyoya and his character, I watch this show every week because somehow, the story is just frustrating enough for me to want to come back every week and route for Erika to either change Kyoya for the better, or leave him and get her life back together.
