Creepy Fun even if you dont like ghost stories
Not much gets to me, I can safely say that Yamishibai creeps me the hell out! I have yet to watch an episode that doesn't give me goosebumps and make my hair stand on end. There is no gore and really no jump scares ether but what you do get is left up to your imagination which is much worse. I recommend that you watch this in the middle of the day with all the house lights on.

Amazed how much I like this!
I first saw this while browsing through the shows and was caught by the mention of Ghost Stories in the title. Looking into it more I thought i'd be a boringly animated, simple sequence of people just talking and a really in depth story, so I walked away from it.
After a while, I figured I'd just give it a try. And my, I fell in love with it.
Each story is written so perfectly, giving you a ...

    Animation style is pretty cool---
I think the creepiest part of these three episodes so far is the opening sequence. I was imagining these would be tellings of old Japanese creepy stories (Kumo no Onna, Cut Mouth Woman, etc), but it didn't really live up. The third one was my favorite so far, and I hope that they follow the trend of getting better.

  • so good i based my entire profile on it!
If you like Faun no Tane or Uzumaki or any kind of horror manga.
If you like Horror news or hearing Ghost stories or Creepypastas
Then step right up cause this is the show for you. each episode is only like 5 min but
in that time there where some that genuinely not only entertained me but shook me to my core. try watching contradiction or the handshake man for a good scare.

    I fell in loe ...

  • Creepy and so fun. Hard to watch alone at night!
Spooky short stories. They remind me a bit of "The Twilight Zone," or "Are you afraid of the dark?", and shows in that vein. But this show is more genuinely creepy more often. I can't get enough. Some endings are a bit silly, but the build up is masterful and suspenseful. Hard to watch while alone at night.

  • Seriously did they hire Junji Ito to write season 3
All three seasons are great but the third one really had me questioning if they hired Junji Ito. Because seriously episode 2 looked like it came right out of his mind. I'm going to be really sad if they don't make a season 4 because this show gives me such chills. Great use of time and really makes it worth several re-watches.

  • Time to make you feel scared in five minutes
This is one of my favorite horror shorts I've ever seen so far. Most of its episodes makes you feel really uneasy the more you watch it. It is highly recommended if you love horror stuff. All of its episodes lasts 5 minutes, and believe me, that's more than enough time to scare you.

  • good horror elements
First season is amazing, I think it covers the basic Japanese urban legends; giving it a more spooky vibe. The second season, kinda threw me off. Second season basically covers morals of human beings, then we get to the third season where it's simple but yet embraces the horror elements once again as it did in the first season. Overall, this is a good show to watch for the spooky fans! ...

  • Creepy and Suspenseful
I have a soft spot for Yamishibai. Its unique art style and use of limited animation immediately attracted my attention, and I love what they've accomplished with it. Unfortunately, I can't exactly say the same for its storytelling. The first season started off very strong, establishing the show's tone and creating genuinely creepy and suspenseful moments. Second season does not achieve the same ...
