I really enjoyed this series. Made me think alot about the things we leave behind when we die. The first half of the series was alot more enjoyable though and I'm STILL impressed with the talent of the young main cast at the shows beginning

@ daduncan: According to history, the Crown Prince that inherits Jeonjo's throne is the son of Consort Su. They just don't ever show or talk about her in this.

Beautiful series, the actors really took on and portrayed the characters. Very sad ending, wished they could both have lived to their old age with all their children alive...

One of the best I've seen! Thank you so much!! Sad that only decent people who had hope and plans to make it better for the people and the country had to die such untimely deaths. Is there another series/sequel to this?

Great series, gotta give credit for the creators bridging the gaps in history although some were totally fictional. In the beginning i couldn't stand Dae su who would have thought he would be such a great guy?

oh man i cried, why did he have to die at such a young age, he had so much to do, and poor park dae su, he was the only one left, why do things like this happen.

Well I made it though and finish and I find that I like the kdramas but I hate the way some ladies are made to be slow and retarded. The men crying over everything.

There's a good blog of the real history. http://www.koreanhistoryprojectDOTorg/Ket/C15/E150 I started with Crown Prince Sado, who was something of a violent loony tragic figure who turned into a serial killer by today's standards. FYI

Do the makers of Kdramas have huge quantities of stock in Kleenex? There goes another box. I swear those Koreans do know how to cry! This was sometimes an annoying series, but I'm glad I stayed with it. The real history is actually brutal

agila61 ...yes, but he didnt impregnant her w/ their 1st child until 4 yrs later, and she was 17 when Yeon died. He must not have been interested in sex after Yeon died, 2nd queen didnt have babies either

Yeon & the queen were same age, no wonder they were bffs:) Yeon died@33 & new RoyalConsort Subin was 17. Her son was then born 4 yrs after Yeon's death. Like the 1st queen, his 2nd queen didnt give birth either. Poor king musta missd Yeon:(

@jeanniering The mother of the second Crown Prince was Park Su (Subin), she became Royal Consort the year after Seong Song-Yan died. The drama skipped over that period.

The trouble with historic drama is there are so many tragedies. Yi San certainly had more than his share. It was a good drama nonetheless - glad I took the time to watch it.

This drama is so touching yet sad .Dong Yi is another good drama, it is said to be extended too, to about 62 episodes. Yi San talks more about politics while Dong Yi focuses more on the love life of Dong Yi and the King. Two-Thumbs Up !!

the last episodes weren't planned out right. from 71 - 77 is like ten to twelve years of history smashed into six - seven episodes.

King Sunjo's smile is soooo cute! Such an innocent child...too bad historically-wise, the evil queen mother ruled as regent for a while.
