    Seriously, it's good.
People tend to judge before they even watch this series, and I was almost one of those people. I found the series starts off a little slow but once the plot starts showing more, and more characters start popping up, the series takes a complete turn and becomes this very well thought-out story. The series starts off with super up-beat and never give-up vibes, which makes people believe this is just ...

Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal is a must watch!
I feel like Zexal always gets cast to the side because, like the other Yu-Gi-Oh spin-offs, "it's not the original". I for one LOVE Zexal and think it is a great addition to the franchise. Astral is just the greatest character to ever be in the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise. I also like Yuma. A lot of people don't like him, and I can't really understand why because honestly, he's one of the most relatable ...

    An Amazing Series for All
Zexal is an beautiful anime that does not get the credit it deserves. The series might start out slow but most of the best shows do and although the pace remains slow throughout the whole show, the series always gives great character development for the characters especially Yuma and Astral. One of my favorite parts of the series is seeing Yuma grow as a duelist, Astral grow in his understanding ...

    A disappointment to the franchise
I'll be clear here. I do not dislike Zexal for not being like the Original, or GX, or 5Ds. I defended this series when it was being advertised, but in the end it did not deliver. Let's begin with out protagonist, Yuma. I was supportive of Yuma being a beginner, that was a good idea. However, there was no growth in Yuma as a character. From the start he is a beginner, and to the end he is a ...

    My favorite Yu-gi-oh
Despite the dub not being good.
The subtitled version of this show is a fantastic entry to the franchise. It may start slow by the first season. But it picks up with tremendous speed and becomes fantastic at its second season.

Yuma Tsukumo for his age is actually a very relatable character, with being a beginner rather than a pro like most of the other protagonists are, and very underrated. ...

  • a criminally underrated series
Before I start, PLEASE WATCH THE SUB INSTEAD OF THE AWFUL, AWFUL DUB. I really wish Crunchyroll had the original Japanese series but here's to hoping they get to license it like the other YGO series as this appears to be the ONLY one to not have a subtitled version. To truly enjoy ZEXAL you need to experience it in all of its raw, uncensored, emotional glory.

I've been an avid YGO fan ...

the worst of the yugioh series
Zexal embodies all of the worst qualities of the worst parts of other yugioh series. extremely annoying / unlikable main character , little to no focus on character development until very late in the show resulting in the audience having little care for what happens...and cringe-worthy dialogue / writting in general.

Especially coming right after 5ds, which is probably the darkest/ most serious ...

    The Worst Protagonist
If you're coming from 5D's, and then you're in for a huge surprise. After creating the best protagonist in the franchise (and Yusei is still regarded as the best duelist according to YGO's creators), you have Yuma--the "underdog" of the series. In fact, the "amateur" archetype is so overplayed in this series that a lot of people can't even make it past half of the first season.

    Essentially, you ...
