  • Full of fun and feels
A journey with friends to find ones true self. A must watch for the Slice of Life lover.

I was belly laughing and crying. The characters are lovable and frustrating as real life is sometimes.

I hope they make a second season down the road when the girls are done with college.

  • Touching and Memorable
With a well-paced story and adorably memorable characters, A Place Further Than The Universe will hold your attention throughout.
Don't miss one of the most original stories this season!

  • Closure Requires Closing
“A Place Further than the Universe” (2018) is a classic example of that peculiarly Japanese type of fiction: madcap comedy mixed with heartrending tragedy, which is perfectly OK if you know to expect it, but it truly matters how you tell each side of the story. In this case the comedy works out pretty well, but the tragedy is a little unfinished, perhaps because the writers finally realized that ...

  • An Incredible Adventure
When the story's this good, I don't even bother commenting on the art or animation. However, given that most of the story takes place in Antarctica, you can draw your own conclusions there. The relationships that develop between the four main characters are beautiful and the story is very moving. The plot does suffer from contrived feels once in awhile, but overall the tear-jerk moments are real, ...

  • You need to watch this!
At first I thought this is just your typical "cute girls doing cute things" but I was so wrong after the first episode. This anime stirs up feelings of going on adventure especially for people with Work/Study-Home-Work/Study lifestyle.

    Story: 99/10

  • An Amazing Adventure
The premise didn't exactly sell me, but I can't express how glad I am that I gave it a shot anyway. A must-watch. This show excels in heartwarming, tear-jerking, tender moments, and also in hilarious fun. Be ready for a great adventure. And if your feels function properly, be prepared to shed tears over nearly every episode.

  • Real, beautiful, inspiring
A heartfelt story of a group coming together for a goal that can so easily be thought to be unachievable. The pressures they all experience feel more real than I've seen in any other medium in the past year. I'll admit I cried at the last two episodes.

  • This is the anime I'll re-watch a year from now.
“A place further than the Universe” was an anime I’m so glad I didn’t read by the book. Though the series started out slow and didn’t have any of the elements I usually look for in anime I frequent, this may just be my favorite anime of all time. There are very few shows or movies in general that speak to me on a personal level and so few that show the true nature of humanity. All the interactions ...

  • Best slice of Life Anime I've seen in a while
This story follows the trip of four high-school girls on their journey to Antarctica.
The main plot revolves around each of them equally, without feeling too one-sided about any character, and their points of view are very well-explained. The artstyle is simplistic in some facial areas, but the art for backgrounds, eyes, motion, etc are all extremely well-done.
    This show is a tear-jerker, about ...

  • Let's find a treasure in our own lives...
There are plenty of reviews here that state this anime is great in many aspects: animation, plot, character development, soundtrack, I agree without exception.

    I'll add this:
Remember when you watched (if you did) the TV series "24", about Jack Bauer trying to save the day? And how things kept happening even if they were not in the screen? I felt the same as watching this anime, and it helped ...
