    they ruined it for me
this show had potential... i really want to liek it.. but the writers have over done it for me. sure we all like the story of the underdog growing into something great... but he started pretty good...and the writers ground him to crap.... its been too long into this for him to recover IMO. even if they wait for the last moment for hime to shine... thier pace is waaay off... theres plenty of ...

Had so much potential but the writers are intentionally making MC so pathetic.
What the hell have the writers done to Sawamura?
He is a shell of whatever pitcher/Man he used to be.
He has gone from being (arguably) the main character to becoming one of the biggest side characters in Anime - earning himself a position next to Krillin and Yamcha from DBZ.
If the writers were hoping to take Sawamura through some sort of rough patch in order to make it twice as epic when ...

Great start but 60+ episodes on....
This anime starts of really great but after 60 episodes the show becomes long winded. Likable characters disappear and are replaced by new characters which don't have much to them. They bring nothing new and it makes the anime stale after a while. That said the animation is excellent and it should be a given when Mad House is on the case.

    Not terrible, but extremely generic.
In a genre that has recently been undergoing an evolution with the likes of Baby Steps and Kuroko no Basuke I find it very difficult to recommend Ace of the Diamond. If there was a book explaining in step-by-step detail how to make a sports anime AotD would be following it to a ‘T’. For this reason it’s still watchable, it doesn’t do anything grievously wrong but it also doesn’t do a single thing ...

    Inspired by this anime
After watching this anime i have become inspired to become a baseball player, you might think this is a joke but i was actually really moved by this anime, If you ever see the name Andy weir on the billboards it means i made it. only problem is i want to be a pitcher but im 5'5", what ever that wont stop me, ill practice 100 times harder to make up for my short height. what im trying to get at is ...

    Just a fantastic show.
I want to point out that this is my first time ever watching a sport anime. Before i'd used to think well why not just watch the real thing? I mean what can they possibly do with a sport?? And this just blew my mind. I'm sure that I will now give other sport animes a try.

    Best baseball anime, hands down
Ace of the Diamond is the best baseball anime I've ever seen, hands down (even including Oofuri, if only slightly). It doesn't fall into the traps of so many other sports anime - which is, either 1) only focusing on the main character, shafting the other members of the team, and some dumbass rival; or 2) repeating the trope of a superstar lone player reviving a underdog team and taking them to ...

    A great sports anime!
An interesting anime that draws me into baseball which i don't particularly like! There are many characters in this show, which is not surprising since baseball is a major team sport.
    Pros:
Loyalty, teamwork, trust, courage are common themes in the show. It is also rather realistic and easy to connect w/ the the characters. Despite the vast number of characters, I feel like each are given a ...

    An Amazing Sports Anime!
Ace of Diamond, an anime produced by Production I.G (Kuroko no Basket) & Madhouse (Hajime no Ippo). Both of these animation companies are very knowledgeable in the sports genre as seen in their previous titles. This eventually lead to the creation of this amazing show.

This series isn't rushed, it's paced very well and supported by amazing animation. There are a wide variety of characters to ...
