  • Extremely good, with all its defects
The anime of Ahiru no sora transposes the manga in an excellent way. Even though the animation techniques during mathces and games were in very poor quality, the overall structure and plotstyle capture the viewer for 50 episodes.
Hoping for a season two, the anime absolutely needs good animation in games to be definitely attractive and capture a wider audience.
Strongly recommended, you won' t ...

A *REAL* SPORTS ANIME WITH NO PLOT ARMOR
FIRST SPORTS ANIME WHERE TEAM DOESN'T HAVE PLOT ARMOR
Almost every sports anime I've watched has had plot armor as some point in the anime, even within the first seasons. This is so much more than just a sports anime. It's a sports anime with heavily dramatic and hearfelt scenes and character development. Even though it feels like hardly anything happened, the thrill of the emotional ups and ...

    VERY REALISTIC FOR AN ANIME
This is a very good anime that displays a more realistic look at basketball. If your looking for an anime in which the team starts OP , or for unreal cool looking plays , this isn't the right anime for you. The main critique is that this anime is to depressing and the team doesn't win enough. This is showing a reality for basketball players in real life. Everyone unfortunately cant be a winner. ...

    Absolutely Love This
It's more of a calm and more impact version of Kuroko's Basketball and I love ever moment of this Anime. It defines what to expect from your average basketball anime and sports in general. I hope that this anime can have a lot more seasons than Kuroko's Basketball.

Good but not captivating at all
This story of anime is upsetting always lose. You believe for a second that the team will win at the end but lose anyway at the end. Not a good sports anime . Creator gives hope then basically they let you down at the end. Characters are strong that you will believe in them but missed up anyway. I know at the end of the story they will likely to achieve their goal but I'm not expecting anything ...

The Author Publicly Apologized for this show
"I also want to apologize to the people who are true Ahiru no Sora readers. I think that the direction of the anime is disappointing and terrible. I apologize once again." -Takeshi Hinata
This is a 50 episode sports anime that never gets off the ground. The entire 50 episode is melodrama and build up yet we never go anywhere. We endlessly watch the group train, char development, then oh look X ...

    Realistic and Story Driven Anime
A lot of people are complaining that its too slow. Its not slow. This anime focuses on story and realistic play. No one has super powers. Everyone has a personality because they actually get screen time outside of basketball. The plays and shots are explained and are based off of real plays. All characters play a part and show development.
TLDR: YOU WILL NOT LIKE THIS ANIME IF YOU JUST WANT TO ...

  • I love the show just not the animation.
Some people say that the show is too slow for their liking, but I personally enjoy a slower pace anime simply because the character development is better and more memorable. The only peeve I have of the show is the animation. You would think an anime that is telecasting one of the best selling manga in japan in 2008 would try a little harder on the animation aspect. It's not like this show is ...

    Grounded Sport Anime
    Awesome show.
Very grounded characters, with big exposition to their inner workings. The plot has some nice twists and turns, very dramatic.
Could be a drama/sports/slice-of-life hybrid, with plenty of nice jokes and wrinkles here and there.
    Recommended!
P.S.: The non-supernatural skills are greatly appreciated. Not everyone has to have an unreal jump/throw/swing/you name it, in an anime
