    Really Great! 10/10!
I would honestly take the time to watch this over if I could. It has a great plot, the animation is up to par and the character lay out is extremely impressive for what this anime is. I would recommend it to any new anime watchers and hope to see more.

  • Very slow-paced yuri fanservice
I thught it was about summer friendship, but 5 episodes in, it's still just big-breast fanservice... has essentially no plot, just slice of life.

The facial animation is fun at first, but also gets repetitive and embarrassingly awkward. They try to keep a silly face for 5-seconds just to fish for a laugh.

  • Pikari-chan is precious
Take one protagonist with a little bit of social anxiety and a supporting character with a lot of ADHD then throw them into a world of scuba diving, day dreaming, and ghost stories. This slice of life is quite possibly one of the most precious things on Crunchy Roll. I don't usually like this kind of anime but I'm actually pretty glad stopped by due to curiosity about why all the screenshots are ...

  • Not an ordinary slice of life
So the first season follows the main characters as they become close friends primarily through scuba-diving, but also several other adventures that they go on. It is a well done slice of life with some amazing scenery. There are some things that take getting use to (such as the strange facial expressions), but overall it is decent.

Season two still has some of the same type of storylines, but ...

  • sweet but with annoying elements
    Cons: the lead girl is totemo urusai as the Japanese would say. I actually find her annoying a bit 2) The puppet face happens too often, and although some like it, I find it distracting;

On the positive side: 1) the art is really pretty and you can tell the artists love the ocean. 2) I like the implied Yuri, but even there it stays implied

Another Gem from the Creator of Aria
About the title: if you haven't seen Aria, you probably should. It is now old enough to be considered a classic; one of the greats of iyashikei storytelling.

But this review isn't about Aria, it's about Amanchu! and while it bears similarities in many things from the relaxing theme to the old-fashioned deformed faces and bizarrely-shaped (but adorable) cats, the show is very much its own ...

This is a Yuri anime that is not really about scuba diving.
All of the Yuri is implied...mostly. There is a point in the show where one would have to be an idiot or in denial not to see it, and I'm talking about the last shot in the OPENING CREDITS. Sure, the show could be interpreted as not being Yuri if the viewer is really homophobic or an idiot, but this is even gayer then Gundam Wing.
    Yeah.
This is not really a show about scuba diving, in as much as ...

Amanchu, the high tide of SoL! We need more anime like this!
So I watch plenty of anime, as most people on this site do. Amanchu is definitely in my Top 15 if not Top 10 at the minimum. It's a slice of life that's actually a slice of life. Sometimes the anime will drift from diving, but it focuses on the personal development of the characters (especially Teko) and that's something I always like seeing. It has fun comedy, light hearted feels, amazing music, ...

  • A relaxing show and one of my favorites
When I read the description of this show I did not think I would it enjoy it as much as I did. I was (and still am) new to the "slice of life" genre so I gave it a watch. I was immediately enchanted by this show and ended up watching all 12 episodes nonstop consecutively. The soundtrack is stellar and relaxing and the animation/art work is captivating with it's use of warm and bright colors. I ...

  • The cat is literally the only reason I watch this show.
Butt-cat is best cat. Yeah the show is good and has a feel-good slice-of-life atmosphere to it, and the pacing is nice. It has a unique atmosphere and setting, along with characters and attitudes, but the cat is literally the only reason I watch this show.

    Not really.

    But actually tho.
