Sony Dishes Out Some Bond 23 Details
While trade magazines had already spoiled the significant bits, Sony Pictures' press conference filled in the details concerning the upcoming, 23rd James Bond film. The official James Bond twitter, @007, tweeted the logline: “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
Sony confirmed the title would be Skyfall. As for the title’s meaning, producer Barbara Broccoli says, “It has emotional context which will be revealed in the film.”
The press conference was also attended by director Sam Mendes (American Beauty, the Lone Wolf and Cub-inspired Road to Perdition), co-producer Michael G. Wilson, and cast members Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Bérénice Marlohe, and Naomie Harris. The filmmakers also announced Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw.
Skyfall, which goes into production on Monday, November 7th, will begin its worldwide roll-out in the UK and Ireland on October 26th, 2012, and in North America on November 9th, 2012.
