Last week Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino revealed what is said to be Professor Layton's final adventure, Professor Layton and the Legacy of Super Civilization A for Nintendo 3DS. While that may indeed be his last hurrah, it's not the only one Level-5 is working on right now, as the latest issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu reveals an iOS and Android Layton adventure in the making.
Professor Layton and the Century of the Seven Phantom Thieves has players creating an avatar and gathering information on criminals in order to catch them. In addition to netting rewards for victorious catches, players will be able to team up with each other via an advantageous social mechanic.
As Siliconera notes, the game's business model hasn't made its way online, but rewards like avatar items—including a rare Luke puppet gifted to folks who register for the game early—make it sound like it will include item-based transactions. For now we'll just have to wait until more information is released on the iOS and Android-bound adventure.
