Aniplex of America Adds "Sword Art Online" Anime and More

"Blast of Tempest" and "Magi - The Labyrinth of Magic" releases also planned

Aniplex of America announced a few upcoming releases at its New York Comic Con panel today. The publisher will be releasing the Blast of Tempest, Sword Art Online, and Magi - The Labyrinth of Magic anime series, all of which are currently streaming on Crunchyroll.


Blast of Tempestbased on the manga created by Kyō Shirodaira—comes from director Masahiro Ando (Hanasaku Iroha), with production by Studio Bones (Darker Than Black), and series composition by Mari Okada (Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine,Aquarion Evol). 


Sword Art Online is based on the light novel series by Accel World's Reki Kawahara, and features direction from Tomohiko Ito (Occult Academy) with A-1 Pictures (anohana, Blue Exorcist) on animation production. 


Magi - The Labyrinth of Magic—a spin on the classic Arabian Nights story—is adapted from Sumomomo Momomo creator Shinobu Ohtaka's manga. The series is directed by Read or Die's Koji Masunari and produced by A-1 Pictures, with Kokoro Connect's Toshifumi Akai on character design and Accel World's Hiroyuki Yoshino on scripts.
