"Shonen Sunday" Teases Blitz of Anime Adaptations

Hiromu Arakawa's "Silver Spoon" or Rumiko Takahashi's "Rinne" finally getting adapted for anime?

I'm guessing we may soon be hearing firm news about the long rumored anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's best selling agricultural school manga follow-up to Fullmetal Alchemist, Silver Spoon. In this year's 50th issue, Shonen Sunday announced that the next eight issues will feature a storm of announcements concerning anime adaptations of the magazine's manga.

In addition to Silver Spoon, the magazine hosts Magi, Hayate the Combat Butler, The World Only God Knows, Zettai Karen ChildrenKenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, upcoming Shaft (Madoka Magica) project [email protected] and Detective Conan, while other noteworthy candidates for anime include InuYasha creator Rumiko Takahashi's Rinne and Yuu Watasae's Arata: The Legend.

Sunday is published by Shogakukan, who is a part owner of American manga publisher VIZ Media.
