Nintendo Reveals $100 Wii Mini, Lacks Online and GameCube Support

Value priced console slated for December 7 Canadian release

Canadian gamers who remain without a Wii are getting a cheap treat that appears to be exclusive to the region, at least through the holidays. Following a leak, Nintendo revealed the Wii Mini, a smaller version of the Wii with less features that's set to launch on December 7 for $99.99.

Those missing features are certainly worth noting. The top-loading Wii Mini lacks both online connectivity and GameCube game compatibility, but will support most peripherals.

There's no word yet on Wii Mini's worldwide release. It's a pretty odd-looking little brick, but perhaps some folks out there have been waiting for a cheaper Wii with… less features? What say you?
