"Final Fantasy All the Bravest" Brings Chaotic RPG Action to iOS

App lands in Apple's store on January 17 for $3.99

Well, we now know what that teaser site was for. Square Enix is bringing something new to old school Final Fantasy fans with the addition of Final Fantasy All the Bravest on iOS. The chaotic, sprite-based game is set to hit Apple's store on January 17 for $3.99.

All the Bravest may be styled after past Final Fantasy games, but as you'll see in the launch trailer below, it's… kind of crazy! The iPhone/iPad app pits as many as 40 party members against enemies in classic Active Time Battle showdowns—get it? ATB? All the Bravest?—and attacks are pulled off via taps or drags across multiple party members.

Here's an image of Fever Mode, which kicks in once every three hours and lets you attack without having to wait for the ATB gauges to fill up again.

There are 20 characters throughout that are unlockable through progress, and 35 more "Premium" characters available as $0.99 in-app purchases. In a shrewd move, however, those purchased characters are provided at random, so it may take a few goes before you get the specific character you want.

There are additional stages available to purchase, based on areas from Final Fantasy VII, X, and XIII, which are available as World Tickets priced at $3.99. All the Bravest also sports leadeerboards and social networking options.
