Otaku Club Returns to Anime in New "Genshiken" Adaptation

Second generation of The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture get their own anime

Manga magazine Afternoon has revealed that Shimoku Kio's Genshiken will be getting a new anime adaptation. The series follows a college club calling itself The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture, grouping a broad passion for anime, manga, games, cosplay and so on.

Promo art features the second generation of the club, populating the group after most of the characters seen in the earlier anime adaptation graduated. In addition to returning cosplayer Ohno, doujinshi artist Ogiue, and grating Kuchiki, there's American Susanna Hopkins, fujioshi Yoshitake and Yajima and cross-dressing Hato.
