Crunchyroll to Stream "Majestic Prince" Anime

Starts April 4, at 8:00a.m. Pacific Time

Hang on to your hats! Spring announcements at Crunchyroll are coming down the pike fast and furious. Today’s first title is the new mecha anime Majestic Prince.

Based on the manga written by Rando Ayamine and illustrated by Hikaru Nijima, Majestic Prince is set to broadcast every Thursday starting on April 4, at 8:00a.m. Pacific Time for its premium members, and April 11 for free members.

Story and background

The story takes place in the future where humanity has reached out into space to gather more resources, including sending out genetically modified teenagers into deep space to mine asteroids with giant robots. At first glance, Majestic Prince appears to have all the trappings of an action-packed robot-fighting series, but upon closer inspection, Majestic Prince does not take itself too seriously and injects a good dose of humor into the whole story.

Directed by Keitaro Motonaga, whose other works include Katanagatari and Jormugand, and features character designs that will be familiar to fans of Gundam Seed and Fafner of the Azure, done by Hisashi Hirai. The voice cast includes Hiroki Aiba as Izuru Hitachi, Shintao Asanuma as Toshikazu Asagi, Yuka Iguchi as Tamaki Irie, Yoko Hikasa as Kei kugimiya, and Junya Ikeda rounding out the main group as Ataru Suruga.

Majestic Prince will be available to Crunchyroll’s in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
