Using the infamous video-sharing site to upload the anime episode
ACCS (Association of Copyright for Computer Software) reported on June 10th that Yamagata Prefectural Police's Consumer and Environmental Division and its Sagae branch office arrested a 43-year-old unemployed man on June 6th on suspicion of posting the ninth episode of TV anime Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! onto a video-sharing website FC2 without the copyright holder's permission. The head office of FC2 is located in Las Vegas in the U.S. state of Nevada, but 95% of the access are from Japan.
The suspect used the site's live streaming service "FC2 Live" to make the episode accessible for an unspecified large number of Internet users on January 9th, 2013. The prefectural police received a report that someone had been distributing the anime illegally on FC2 and made contact with the copyright holder Kyoto Animation through ACCS. The police seized a few PCs at his home on the day of
the arrest. The suspect was referred to the Yamagata District Public Prosecutors Office on 7th. He confessed
to his crime and said that he wanted to attract people's attention in the internet.
