Live Action "Kenshin" to Adapt Kyoto Arc Next Summer

Trilogy continues next summer

Following the commercial and critical success of last year's live-action adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki's samurai manga Rurouni Kenshin, at least one sequel was expected, but, Spanish distributor Mediatres Studio as well as profiles of director Keishi Ōtomo  suggested that a trilogy was in the works.

Shonen Jump is now confirming this with the new that two more movies are coming, with an adaptation of the fan-favorite Kyoto Arc kicking off next summer.

The storyline follows political assassin turned non-lethal protector Himura Kenshin's face-off against his replacement, who has doubled down on a commitment to a philosophy of survival of the fittest chaos.
