"Tales of Link" Announced for Smartphones, Four Characters Introduced

Namco Bandai to release smartphone game in Japan this fall

It looks like at least one of Namco Bandai's recently registered Tales of trademarks is already bearing fruit. The publisher revealed some plans for Tales of Link, which is set to hit smartphones in Japan this fall.

Directed by Hironori Naoi and featuring character designs by Daigo Okumura, Tales of Link's first four characters have been detailed in this week's issue of Jump. Here's the lowdown on who we've been introduced to thus far:

Sara (voiced by Shiori Mikami, AKA YuruYuri's Akari Akaza) - A first-time adventurer who leaves home to pursue her goal. She meets Rippi along the way, and both set off on a search for the Messiah.

Rippi (voiced by Ai Nonaka, AKA Madoka Magica's Kyōko Sakura) - A fairy who Leone has assigned to recover the Seed of Calamity, Rippi supports the Messiah and has the ability to purify seeds.

Shiza (voiced Masakazu Morita, AKA Tiger & Bunny's Barnaby Brooks Jr.) - This multiple-blade-owning swordsman meets the Messiahs as they head toward their goal of purifying the Seed of Calamity.

Leone (voiced by Aya Endo, AKA Sekirei's Matsu) - After lifting the seal to the Seed of Calamity, this goddess is unable to move as she holds back the seeds from blooming.

According to Gematsu, there's also the possibility of previous Tales of characters returning for Tales of Link
