Over a Million Tune in to Toonami's "Evangelion 2.22" Broadcast

Surprise airing of Masaaki Yuasa's crowd funded anime short "Kick-Heart" had 708,000 watching

American TV ratings for Saturday, August 31st are out, and it looks like Toonami's broadcast of Evangelion 2.22 managed to build on the success of the March 17th airing of Evangelion 1.11. Where the earlier Rebuild movie had 959,000 tuning in, the second part of the mecha anime reboot had 1.097 million watching.


Evangelion was followed by a surprise airing of Masaaki Yuasa's crowd funded anime short Kick-Heart, which had 708,000 watching.

Kick-Heart is currently in a film festival run. It's been selected for the 57th BFI London Film Festival, and has been added to Austin,Texas' FantasticFest lineup.
