Kadokawa announces plans to adapt "Ga-Rei" author's later work into anime
Little has been heard about plans to adapt Hajime Segawa's 2010 action manga Tokyo ESP into an anime since Kodansha's May announcement, but a new visual is now confirming that the series can be expected in 2014.
Hajime Segawa developed Toyko ESP while writing Ga-Rei, the supernatural manga that inspired prequel anime Ga-Rei Zero. His first proposal was something like The Matrix with a fart powered hero. When his editor scuttled that, he settled on an action series starring a girl whose phasing abilities manifest after she has a vision of a flying penguin.
