Crunchyroll Adds "Recently, My Sister is Unusual" Anime

Winter anime announcements continue to issue forth from Crunchyroll today, and the next simulcast to crow about is Recently, My Sister is Unusual (jp: Saikin, Imoto no Yosu ga Chotto Okaishiin Da Ga, aka ImoCho for short) which is set to broadcast every Saturday starting on January 4, at 8:00a.m. Pacific Time for its premium members, with free members able to watch one week later. Story and background


The latest entry in the “my little sister” genre, Recently, My Sister is Unusual is based on an original manga written and illustrated by Mari Matsuzawa. As usual, the story features a younger sister named Mitsuki Kanzaki who goes to live with her step-brother Yuya Kanzaki after her mother remarries. However, the hijinks start once Mari becomes possessed by a ghost named Hiyori Kotobuki, who must fall in love with Yuya in order to pass on…


The cast features newcomer voice actress Chinami Hashimoto as Mitsuki, Junji Majima, also known for his roles as Itaru Shiodome in Nagi no Asukara and Ryuji Takasu in Toradora!, as Yuya, and Yui Ogura, Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi in HENNEKO and Yuuko Kanda in The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, as Hiyori.


Recently, My Sister is Unusual will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia, The Netherlands, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.
