"Death Note" artist's adaptation of time loop/mecha versus aliens novel runs in "Young Jump"
The Takeshi Obata (Death Note, Bakuman, Hikaru no Go) adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka's time loop/mecha versus aliens novel All You Need is Kill kicks off in today's 6/7 double issue of manga magazine Weekly Young Jump, reportedly to be soon followed with an English Shonen Jump launch. The 68-page chapter's color first page has been previewed.
In the story, new United Defense Force recruit Keiji Kiriya finds himself repeatedly waking up after an encounter with famed mech pilot soldier Rita "Full Metal Bitch" Vrataski and his battlefield death.
Viz, who has published the novel in North America, has their own comic adaptation coming this spring.
