Iwata: "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire" Are Full Remakes

Beloved 2003 Game Boy Advance entries get new life on 3DS

Yesterday Nintendo revealed "a fresh take" on a pair of Game Boy Advance Pokémon classics with the announcement of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for 3DS. Those of you who got really excited about returning to Hoenn will be happy to know that, according to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, these games are "full remakes."

Iwata made the clarification during a recent financial briefing, which also unveiled more of Nintendo's future plans, some of which we'll get to in a bit. While it's nice to know Nintendo is busting out full remakes, there's still plenty we've yet to learn about Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, which are due out on 3DS worldwide this November.
