Look forward to magical anime next spring
Little Witch Academia's crowdfunding campaign Kickstarter page and Anime Matsuri have announced that the Houston event will present a preview of Trigger's second magical anime short in April 2015 with director Yoshinari Yoh at the special preview. He's also provided a special sketch to accompany the news.
Anime Matsuri explains:
In 2013, Studio TRIGGER made an animated short called Little Witch Acadamia for a project created by the Japanese government to encourage and train young animators, called Anime Mirai.
Little Witch Acadamia came with a positive message: “Never forget, a believing heart is your magic”, a coming of age cross between Harry Potter and Teen Witch. It is an incredible piece of animation, for everyone. The story, characters, humor and animation are top notch. I cannot praise it enough.
It was a big hit. As a matter of fact it made such an impact that when TRIGGER appealed to the fans to help raise funds for the next episode, the feedback was overwhelming. The Kickstarter had a goal of $150,000 and raised $625,518!
Currently, the small team at Studio TRIGGER is working on the second episode with a projected completion date of mid 2015. The team will preview Little Witch Acadamia 2 at Anime Matsuri on April 3-5, 2015 with the Director, Yoshinari Yoh present.
This is such an exciting time for us. We are deeply humbled to have this opportunity, not only to showcase this remarkable achievement in animation but to create a direct link between the creators and the fans. 2015 is shaping up to be a magical year.
Anime Matsuri is no longer calling the showcase a "premiere." Meanwhile, Trigger has posted a message about hashing out the details.
Regarding the premier at Anime Matsuri, it is still not made solid as we are still consulting with the specifics with the staffs.— TRIGGER Inc. (@trigger_inc) September 27, 2014
