Crunchyroll Adds "SHIROBAKO" Anime

SHIROBAKO is set to broadcast every Thursday starting on October 9th, at 8:30 AM Pacific Time, and free members able to watch one week later. More information can be found on



Story and background


Five girls chasing their dreams! Based on the original manga by Kenji Sugihara,  follow each girl’s trials and hardships as they try to find success in the anime industry through writing, production and voice acting.


SHIROBAKO will be directed by Tsutomu Mizushima (Girls und Panzer) at P.A. Works (GLASSLIP, Nagi no Asukara). Haruka Chisugi, who played Tsugumi Harudori in Soul Eater Not!, will voice Shizuka Sakaki. She is joined by Riddle Story of Devil’s Kōko Kaminaga, Haruka Yoshimura as Ema Yasuhara.


SHIROBAKO will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in USA, Canada, South Africa, Latin America, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Scandinavia, Turkey and Australia.
