Sequel to Takuya Mitsuda's Baseball Manga "MAJOR" Set for March

The original series ran for 16 years from 1994 to 2010

It is confirmed today that a sequel to Takuya Mitsuda's baseball-themed manga MAJOR will start on Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday this March. The manga following the life of Goro Honda, who became a major league baseball player, was serialized in the magazine for 747 episodes for 16 years from 1994 to 2010, then compiled in 78 tankobon volumes. The total number of copies printed has reached about 53 million in Japan. The TV anime adaptations produced by Studio Hibari (1st to 3rd) and SynergySP (4th to 6th) were aired for six seasons with 154 episodes from 2004 to 2010. More details will be forthcoming.
