No New Anime Announced at "Sword Art Online" Concert

Contrary to expectations before the event, and hoaxes/confusion after, nothing materializes

On February 1st, cast members Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Tomatsu Haruka, Sawashiro Miyuki, Ayana Taketatsu, Kanae Itō, Takagaki Ayahi, Rina Hidaka, Saori Hayami and Aoi Yūki, along with theme song performers LiSA and Eir Aoi and composer Kajiura Yuki, appeared at the Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall for a Sword Art Online Sing All Overtures concert. The impressive plans set some high expectations for news.

Unfortunately, contrary to hopes leading in and confusion/hoaxes afterwards, the event came and went without any official mentions of a third anime adaptation of Reki Kawahara's light novel... or any other plans.

The only SAO III to date is the PS3/Vita game that was later named "Lost Song."

The light novels still have another virtual world, UnderWorld, and a fourth major Alicization Arc that kicks off in volume 9 and is still running in last August's volume 15.
