"Final Fantasy Record Keeper" Recreates "FFVIII" Mission 16-Bit Style

Smartphone game is currently available on iOS and Android in Japan

The Final Fantasy Record Keeper smartphone game puts players in the role of Deci, the best student working in the history department under Dr. Mog. Deci can enter paintings of past Final Fantasy worlds to view sealed stories and relive some of the greatest battles along with recruitable classic characters, and one of the new events takes players back to Final Fantasy VIII.

The cool thing about Record Keeper is seeing aspects of the 3D games rendered in the style of the 16-bit era entries. This one recreates the Siege of Dollet from FFVIII, which was also featured in the demo version that came packed with Brave Fencer Musashi

The update adds playable versions of SeeD members Quistis and Selphie, and pits parties against Biggs and Wedge, as well as the X-ATM092 boss. You can see how VIII looks sprite-style below.
