Kenchi Tachibana (EXILE) to Star in Stage Play Adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's "Don Dracula"

To be performed at AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo on April 9-14

35-year-old Kenchi Tachibana, a member of 19-member J-pop dance group EXILE, will star an upcoming stage adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's classic vampire comedy manga Don Dracura. The manga was serialized in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion from its May 28 issue to December 10 issue in 1979. A TV anime adaptation was produced by Jin Production in April 1982, but it was cancelled with only four episodes in Tokyo due to the bankruptcy of its advertising agency.

The stage play adaptation, which is the first time for the manga, is produced by Nelke Planning (The Prince of Tennis musical, Live Spectacle Naruto, Fushigi Yuugi), and is scheduled to be performed at AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo from April 9 to 14.
