A 90-second PV for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of God Eater, the action role-playing game developed by Shift and released by Bandai Namco Games, is now officially online. It was first screened at ufotableCINEMA in the Machi Asobi 14 event in Tokushima Prefecture on May 3.
The video introduces the new protagonist for the TV anime, Renka Utsugi voiced by 30-year-old Ryuichi Kijima, who has played mostly minor nameless characters, like Student A in Shokugeki no Soma, since his debut in 2010. He was chosen from over 100 candidates in the audition. The story of the TV anime is based on the first game released in 2010, and the game's main characters, including Lindow Amamiya, Soma Schicksal and Alisa Ilinichina Amiella, will also appear. The ufotable-produced TV anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 5.
