VIDEO: Curse Continues in "Ju-on: The Final" Trailer

The last chapter hits Japanese theaters June 20

Following the 30-second teaser, the official website for Ju-on: The Final, the upcoming latest chapter of the 15-year long Ju-on horror film series, has posted a 90-second full trailer, featuring its theme song "Circle of Life" performed by female singer Double. The film is a direct sequel to the 2014 film Juon: Owari no Hajimari (The Beginning of the End), and, as the title suggests, is expected to be the final installment of the series.

30-year-old Eri Taira plays Mai Ikuno, the older sister of the protagonist of the 2014 film, Yui played by Nozomi Sasaki. After the disappearance of Yui, Mai has been looking for one of her sister's students, Toshio Saeki. But his house was already destroyed by a man named Takeda. He explains her that it was an ill-omened house and all of the curses are gone now.

The series began its history with a direct-to-video title Ju-on directed by Takashi Shimizu in 2000. Now

it has two direct-to-video titles, six feature films, and three American remakes, The Grudge in 2004, The

Grudge 2 in 2006, and The Grudge 3 in 2009 (The first two were directed by Shimizu himself).

Ju-on: The Final is written/directed by Masayuki Ochiai (Parasite Eve, Shutter), and is scheduled to be

released in Japan on June 20.
