"Yotsuba&!" Celebrates 20th Anniversary of "Evangelion" With Plug Suit Inspired Wonder Festival Logo

Kiyohiko Azuma took over Wanda-chan and Reset-chan designs from Keinojou Mizutama

Historically, the major, twice-yearly figures event Wonder Festival's mascots, Wanda-chan and Reset-chan, were illustrated by Keinojou Mizutama (original character designer on MAOYU and Brigadoon), who sadly passed away at the end of 2014. During her preceding illness, Kiyohiko Azuma, author of manga Yotsuba&! and Azumanga Daioh, was invited to illustrate the pair for last summer's event. He then drew sheep inspired designs for winter's event. And, with Neon Genesis Evangelion celebrating its 20th anniversary, it's plug suits for summer!

The event is scheduled for Chiba's Makuhari Messe on July 26. Evangelion's anniversary will also be celebrated with an exhibit of figures and dioramas, an Asuka figure by BOME and Sega UFO catcher and a preview of coming goods.
