KBC Teases "Mystery Anime" with Cryptic Website

Further details promised on June 10, 2015

Kyushu Asahi Broadcasting (KBC), a Japanese TV station based out of Fukuoaka, is teasing a mysterious anime project with a cryptic website designed to look like an old-fashioned newspaper. The image hints cryptically at the revival of an anime from the 1960s.

Viewers speculate that island in the distance may be Hashima Island, aka Gunkanjima (*Battleship Island"), an abandoned island off the coast of Nagasaki. In a promotional image without the text and with different filters and noise effects applied, it's also clear that the child is grasping something in their right hand.

More information is scheduled for release on June 10, 2015.

The mysterious website can be viewed here.
