Sega's online game makes the leap to anime with a new story in 2016

If you've been holding out to get your hands on Phantasy Star Online 2, there's a chance you might end up seeing its anime adaptation before you even come close. Sega announced plans for a TV anime based on its Phantasy Star Online 2 online action-RPG at an event in Okinawa, continuing Phantasy Star Online's 15th anniversary celebration with an original story.

The Phantasy Star Online 2 anime will be set on a near-future version of Earth. There isn't too much more info, but the official website is now open.
