Pair of Japanese pop culture powerhouses join forces beginning in August 2015
Two of Japan's largest pop culture properties, Sanrio's Hello Kitty and Fujio Fujiko's Doraemon, are collaborating to create new lines of cross-over character goods. The cross-over promotion will feature some 320 different kinds of character goods sub-licensed to 50 companies.
The "Doraemon Meets Hello Kitty" goods will include such items as T-shirts, mugs, purses, carrier bags, stationery, and more.
The collaboration begins in August of 2015 with the initial roll-out of cross-over characters goods. In addition, a limited time store will be part of the collaboration. The "Doraemon meets Hello Kitty at Takashimaya" store will be open from August 12 to August 25, 2015, at the Takashimaya department store in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, Japan.
