New Companies Invest In Daisuki Parent Anime Consortium Japan

Six publishers increase investment level in streaming portal

Anime Consortium Japan, the parent company of the Daisuki streaming portal has announced that a new group of investors consisting of Kodansha, Shueisha, Shogakukan and Kadokawa, as well as merchandise manufacturer Good Smile Company have joined the current group of production companies and investors that form the core investment group behind ACJ and supply Daisuki's content library, which already features Bandai Namco, The Cool Japan Fund, Aniplex, Sunrise, Toei, TMS Entertainment, Nihon Ad Systems, Dentsu, and Asatsu-DK.

The new investment totals $3 million and is expected to bolster Daisuki's access to content and ease licensing while also leading to new types of products and services outside of streaming anime. Currently, the service is building its library of exclusive content while slowly building out its e-commerce portal with anime-related merchandise. The portal also recently launched an English-language email newsletter providing weekly updates on the service.
