Anime to Adapt "Bungo Stray Dogs" Literary Mystery Manga

Captain Earth's Takuya Igarashi and Yōji Enokidoa are back at Bones writing and directing the adaptation respectively.

Fans have predicted that Kafka Asagiri and Hirukawa 35's Bungou Straydogs was going to get an anime adaptation. They voted that they'd like to see it get an anime. Now, the story of an orphan who becomes involved with a detective agency specializing in dangerous cases, notable for featuring Japanese seminal early 20th century writers is about to get an anime adaptation.


Star Driver and Captain Earth's Takuya Igarashi and Yōji Enokidoa are back at Bones writing and directing the manga adaptation respectively.

Cast includes

  series' lead detective - author of parable Run, Melos! and semi-autobiographical No Longer Human


a starving orphan who when he saves suicidal detective - writer of Light, Wind and Dreams, based on the life of Robert Louis Stevenson, 


Doppo Kunikida - a novelist and romantic poet who helped established the Japanese naturalist literary movement


 Ranpo Edogawa - author still influencial for his mystery and sci-fi genre work

Kenji Miyazawa - beloved children's writer whose work has influenced anime greats like Hayao Miyazaki

Akiko Yosano  - controversial pioneering feminist, pacifist poet
