Free "Mighty No. 9" Browser Game Hopes to Tide You Over

Jump to avoid attacks in simple Yahoo! Japan game

Backers and anyone else looking forward to Mighty No. 9 ran face first into disappointment when the Mega Man spiritual successor was delayed to early 2016. Though it's not really a consolation prize, a free-to-play browser game from Neos and Yahoo! Japan is here to scratch a small fragment of that itch.

You can play it right here. All you need to do is use the mouse or a controller to make Beck jump over the boss projectiles, which get tougher to dodge as you advance. You'll also have to contend with Beck's toughest foe yet: ad countdowns between stages. Hey, it's a free game.

If you backed Mighty No. 9 on Kickstarter, you can look forward to playing a backer-exclusive trial version on September 15, the same day as the original intended release date. More information on what that includes is available here.
