Warner Bros. Rumored to be Considering "Akira" Trilogy
Christopher Nolan also rumored to be talks
Genre media site Den of Geeks has sparked another round of live-action Akira chatter with a report that a source has told them that Warner Bros. is now considering adapting Katsuhiro Otomo's classic sci-fi anime/manga into a trilogy of movies, and go on to pass along the rumor that Christopher Nolan (director on the last Batman trilogy, executive producer on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) has recently been in talks to get involved with the project.
The previous iteration of Akira talk was Hollywood Reporter's June news that Marco J. Ramirez—the writer who's worked on shows like Sons of Anarchy and will be co-showrunner on the second season of Netflix's Daredevil series—taking over on the script for the live-action adaptation.
