2-part work of animation promotes The Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing Foundation
Studio 4°C has created Why She Loves Kanji, a short, 2-part anime film to promote The Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing Foundation. In the film, a young man named Yusuke Sagara is infatuated with a fellow student named Haruka Hirai, but Haruka only has eyes for Chinese characters. Their study of kanji will bring them closer together.
In Why She Loves Kanji, Yusuke is played by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, while Haruka is played by Aya Suzaki. Yuuko Iida plays Natsumi Hatano, Haruka's energetic friend. The ending theme, "Tsuki", is performed by Tutti. The 2nd part of Why She Loves Kanji is scheduled to be released in October of 2015.
