Dai Nippon Kaiga Publishes "The Wind Rises: Hayao Miyazaki's Daydream Comeback"

Book collects comics and essays by Miyazaki published in "Monthly Model Graphix" magazine

Dai Nippon Kaiga, the Japanese publisher of Monthly Model Graphix magazine, is publishing a book entitled The Wind Rises: Hayao Miyazaki's Daydream Comeback, which features comics and essays penned by Hayao Miyazaki.

The book collects material that originally appeared in issues of Monthly Model Graphix from 2009 - 2010, which was later adapted into the 2013 animated film The Wind Rises, a fictionalized retelling of the life story of Japanese aviation engineer Jiro Horikoshi. Unlike the movie, in the original manga all of the characters are anthropomorphic pigs.

The Wind Rises: Hayao Miyazaki's Daydream Comeback hits Japanese bookstores on October 08, 2015. It retails for 2376 yen ($19.94 US) including tax.
