"The Seven Deadly Sins" Official Spin-Off Manga to Launch Next Month

Illustrated by the 9th ARIA Comic Grand Prix second place winner

It is announced today that Nanatsu no Taizai Production, an official gag spin-off series inspired by Nakaba Suzuki's Nanatsu no Taizai/The Seven Deadly Sins series, will start its serialization in the upcoming January 2016 issue of Kodansha's monthly ARIA magazine to be released on November 28. The magazine is very famous for their recent successful spin-off, Attack on Titan: No Regrets, based on Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan series.

The spin-off is illustrated by Chie Sakamoto, whose short story Ningyo to Kutsuya (A Mermaid and a Shoemaker) won the second prize in the 9th ARIA Comic Grand Prix in 2014. It is set in the world where the original "The Seven Deadly Sins" story is produced as a serial TV drama, and the actors who are playing the Seven Deadly Sins characters including Meliodas have totally different personalities from their characters in the show. The story follows their everyday life on and behind the camera.
