Musical Tribute Pays Respect to Late Nintendo President Satoru Iwata

Proceeds beyond licensing fees to be donated to American Cancer Society

Metal Gear Solid and Bayonetta composer Norihiko Hibino teams up with pianist AYAKI to form the duo known as GENTLE LOVE, and they recently decided to pay tribute to late Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata. The tribute comes as part of Scarlet Moon Records' Prescription for Peace: A Tribute to the Departed arrangement album, which is being sold for $1 to cover licensing fees to Nintendo, with any additional revenue generated going to the American Cancer Society.

GENTLE LOVE's tribute to Satoru Iwata comes in the form of a chill cover of the Onett theme from Earthbound, AKA Mother 2, which Iwata significantly helped in its time of need. Iwata passed away back in July, leaving a major hole in the games industry as a result.

Prescription for Peace also features a tribute to musician Eiki Oshimi, who acted as a mentor to Hibino and many others.
