Hollywood "Ghost in the Shell" Eyes Sam Riley

Deadline has reported that British actor/singer Sam Riley is in early talks to star in DreamWorks’ live-action adaptation of sci-fi manga/manga Ghost In The Shell. If he signs the deal, he'd play The Laughing Man opposite Scarlett Johansson's Major and Pilou Asbæk' Batou. 


Deadline describes the story as following a counter-cyberterrorist organization called Public Security Section 9, working for Hanka Robotics and devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, led by The Laughing Man.

Avi Arad and Steven Paul are producing from a script by Jonathan Herman. Michael Costigan, Jeffrey Silver, Tetsu Fujimura, Mitsuhisa Ishikawa exec produce. Release is currently scheduled for March 31, 2017.
