Science Fiction TV Anime "Active Raid" Will Be Split Into Two Cours

Additional cast member Tomoyo Kurosawa announced as voice of Liko


New information about the broadcasting scheduled and casting for science fiction TV anime Active Raid: Special Public Security Fifth Division Third Mobile Assault Eighth Unit, is now available online. According to the show's official Twitter feed (@activeraid), the show will be split into two cours, with the 1st part airing from January to March and the 2nd part airing from July to September in 2016.



Additionally, Tomoyo Kurosawa was announced as the voice of Liko. In Active Raid, Liko is a helpful AI program patterned after an anime maid character that can be installed in devices such as PCs or smart phones. Liko has a variety of functions, and is capable of managing her users' schedules, monitoring personal health data, and recommending various types of information depending on the situation.



Similar in some sense to Mobile Police PatlaborActive Raid is set in the near future where the development of "Willware" exoskeleton suits has inadvertently lead to a spike in violent crime. The series follows the special police unit created to investigate "Willware"-related crime.


Active Raid is directed by Gorō Taniguchi and features animation by Production IMS and Orange. The 1st cour premieres on Tokyo MX on January 07, 2016, with later broadcasts to follow on TV Aichi, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto.
