Episode Counts Listed for "Monster Hunter Stories" and "Assassination Classroom" Season 2

Home video plans also indicate length of "Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju" anime

The AnimeJapan 2016 tradeshow, scheduled for March 25-27 has revealed episode counts for serveral upcoming productions in its studio listings. According to the event site, Assassination Classroom Season 2 will run 25 episodes, while Monster Hunter Stories will run 48. 


The TV anime tie-in to the Monster Hunter Stories (working title) RPG for Nintendo 3DS is being animated by David Production (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure)The studio, which was founde. d in 2007, became a subsidiary of Fuji TV in 2014, and with the Monster Hunter news, Fuji TV is reiterating the intention to produce works with international appeal through David's work.


For the first time in 10 years, since One Piece was scheduled, Fuji TV will be creating a new daytime scheduling slot for anime to make room for this family-friendly series. The story of both the anime and the game will focus on "monster riders", who tame monsters instead of slaying them.

The Assassination Classroom anime returns in January.

The anime adaptation Haruko Kumota's rakugo (traditional storytelling performance)-themed manga Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju is set to premiere in the Animeism midnight programming block of MBS, TBS, CBC, and BS-TBS on January 8, 2016.
